Amar Bukvić was born in 1981. In 2006 he graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb. So far he has starred in over twenty theatre roles. Among the more significant ones is his role as Blažek (and another ten characters in the production: ''Kako misliš mene nema'' (What do you mean I'm not there), directed by Ivica Boban in Exit Theatre, for which he received the Golden Laughter Award at the Days of Satire, the Golden Lion award for male leading role at the Golden Lion Festival in Umag, the Ivo Fici award for best young actor at the Actor's Festival in Vinkovci and Nagradom hrvatskog glumišta for best young actor in 2007. Among the more notable performances in theatre are roles of Dino in Amir Bukvić 's ''Djeca s CNN-a'' Amir Bukvić, directed by Aida Bukvić at Histrionski dom Theatre for which he received the Marul award for best male role at Marulićevi dani in 2009, Fabijan Šovagović award for best male role at the Actor's Festival, Najhistrion award and the Croatian Actors' Guild Award for best young actor. He also starred in several well-received roles on TV and film where the role in Petar Orešković's prominent student film ''Svršetak igre'' and the roles in sitcom ''Bibin svijet'', drama series ''Ja, Che Guevara'', soap opera ''Ponos Ratkajevih'' and television series ''Najbolje godine''. He has been a full time member of Gavella Theatre since 2011 and his first role in his parent theatre was the role of Jerko in Elvis Bošnjak's play ''Nosi nas rijeka'' (The River Takes Us), directed by Krešimir Dolenčić.
